ToC 10 in 34 Minutes

Posted by TannkFebruary 22, 2010 at 6:42 am
As if getting Rotface down wasn't enough, after a few Dreamwalker attempts, Klix decided it would be a good idea to have a quick ToC 10 run. This was at 11:25 server time, with the raid due to finish at 00:00. Our quickest time to do all of ToC 10 before was 1.5 hours, so we thought 'heck let's see how far we get'.

And 34 minutes later, all bosses were down, with no wipes, and Anub'arak not even getting a chance to submerge. Well done team !!

Rotface goes Down

Well done to everyone that was there. Steady progression on the night with some team members who were there for the first time.

I said next time he goes down

And so he did. We went in with a slightly different team (simply because different people were online), and after 2 'practice' wipes, he went down like a tonne of bricks, with 30 seconds left on the enrage timer, and the whole raid alive. Originally I was uncomfortable tanking that fight, as I do not manage cool downs that well, and that fight is dependant on using cooldowns at the right time. However, thanks to Rockús and his excellent tutelage, I learnt a few things last night, and we made it through. Once again well done to all involved. Everyone did a really good job, but special mention must go to the healers and the 'standby healers' for a sterling job.
Fesatergut Downed

Festergut - So close...

Last night saw our second bash at Festergut. Having learnt a lot from the first time, we went in there with a targeted, well thought out team. After a herculean effort by all involved with some impressive healing, tanking and DPS, we had to call the raid due to the time. We steadily made good progress last night though, with our last couple of attempts getting him down to 6% health, with more than enough time on the Enrage timer. Well done to all involved, and next time, he WILL go down. This is what progression raiding is about - learning from each wipe and improving with each attempt. As always, feel free to look at the raid in World of Logs (see Raid WoL Logs link in menu on side of page)

ICC 10 - 4 Bosses Down now

Deathbringer Saurfang's beaten and bloody corpse being carried away by his old man. Awwwwwwww

Lady Deathwhisper Downed -

KoE's first 'dual' raid

Last night was the first time KoE ran 2 10 man raids at the same time. Though one team had to take a couple of pugs along, they did a sterling job of getting through TOTC10. Well done to all involved and to Klix for his first raid as raid leader.

ICC 10 - 2 Bosses down

Finally, last night, on our third night in ICC (with some variation in the teams each time), Lord Marrowgar went down. There were a few team members who had not been there before and learnt the strat as we stood at his door, so getting him down with only one wipe is no small achievement. Very well done on the phase switching on this boss, as it seemed to be seemless each time.

We then progressed onto Lady Deathwhisper, and after 4 attempts, got her down with 3 seconds to the enrage timer and ALL THREE HEALERS DEAD - gotta love Pally tank survivability. Definitely not a simple tank and spank - some confusing mechanics and a lot of target switching and moving around - so really well done to all involved.

All in all, the team seemed to work well together, with little time for preparation / research.
